What the Wiki
currently says.
Seeds are created by processing Burnt Residue with a Kinetic Press. Seeds must then be wet with Water to create Wet Seeds.
When a Seed pixel touches a Water pixel, they combine into a Wet Seed that is ready to be planted.
Seeds are denser than Wet Seeds so they will naturally separate when mixed.
Kinetic Press & Botanical Hydration
Seed Fabrication, Water Hydration & Density Separation
Dry Seeds are manufactured by feeding Burnt Residue into an automated Kinetic Press. Before they can be planted in Planter Boxes, Seeds must touch Water to undergo hydration into Wet Seeds. Because dry Seeds possess a higher Density (150), they naturally separate from lighter agricultural fluids.
| Reaction Stage | Specification | Automation & Engineering Rule |
|---|---|---|
| Residue Pressing | Burnt Residue → Kinetic Press | Continuous mechanical compaction converts incinerated ash into dry Seeds. |
| Water Hydration | Seed + Water → Wet Seed | Direct contact hydration. Seeds instantly absorb liquid Water on contact. |
| Physical Density | Density: 150 | Denser than Wet Seeds. Sinks naturally to the bottom of vertical water troughs. |
| Logistics Compatibility | Launchable: Yes / Burnable: No | Can be fired through Launchers across long factory spans without combustion risk. |
💡 Inline Hydration Chute Design
To automate farming without complicated pump plumbing, drop dry Seeds from an overhead conveyor into a 1-tile wide water trap. The contact instantly produces Wet Seeds, which can be extracted from the side into Planter Box arrays.
