Growing chain · Flowers
Flowers are the indispensable precursor to Amethelis and high-density Florinol batteries. However, automating Planter Boxes presents a physical hurdle: dry Seeds have lower density than Water and float on the surface without soaking into Wet Seeds. This guide details the community-proven vertical filter submersion and underwater distribution array.
Quick answer
In my v0.4.12 Vanilla save, I wet Seeds first, fed Planter Boxes, watched the Flower output, and only then added the Pyro Dispenser and thermal buffers. The 4,000 Flowers and 2,000 Gold targets shown here are personal progression observations; clear the output before adding more Planters.
01
The flower line begins at Wet Seeds and Planter Boxes. Get that route visibly growing before adding a burner or buffers; otherwise a heat problem and a growth problem become one opaque failure.
02
Prepare Wet Seeds in a controlled feed, then give the Planter Boxes enough open space to grow. Keep the rows readable so a suspended Wet Seed, a blocked Flower, or an absent output can be isolated before capacity is added.
03
In the personal run behind these captures, a working row was more valuable than a crowded row. Watch where the Flower harvest goes and clear that path before adding another source; growth capacity does not solve a blocked collection route.

The Pyro Dispenser and surrounding buffers were added only after the growth and collection routes could be observed independently. The captured 2,000 Gold research target and buffer layout describe this save, not a fixed build requirement.

The 4,000 Flowers progression observation confirms that a sustained growth route was needed in this save. Before expanding, inspect the Wet Seed feed, open growth space, harvest route, and thermal output in that order.

Questions answered
Dry Seeds have a lower density (80) than Water (100). They will float indefinitely unless forced below the water plane with a downward vertical filter or gravity launcher.
Wet Seeds (often searched as 'Watered Seeds' by players) are the logistical gateway to end-game Early Access milestones. Automating them enables non-stop Flowers -> Amethelis -> Florin gas -> Florinol batteries -> Synthesizers -> Aura.
Constrain the water to a 1-tile deep basin using Foundation blocks, with a Pump and Liquid Vent maintaining steady water levels, and place the conveyor along the bottom of the basin.
No. Planter Boxes themselves must not be flooded, or crop growth cycles stall. Only the seed wetting preparation trench should be submerged; route the resulting Wet Seeds out of the water into dry Planter Boxes.
A single 1-tile vertical filter wetting line produces up to 30 Wet Seeds per minute, easily sustaining an array of 8 to 12 Planter Boxes in continuous production.
