Sandustry water and thermal factory system

Thermal route · Residue

Build a burner around the material, not the name.

The official Slag Burner page is empty. The documented mechanic is instead an ignition route for Residue, using manual fire or Lava trapped in a Filter, followed by a Kinetic Press.

Working route

Use the constraint
as the design.

  1. 01 · Separate the byproduct

Move Residue away from the Shaker line before adding fire.

  2. 02 · Start manually

The Flamethrower is the first documented early-game tool for burning Residue.

  3. 03 · Automate with contained Lava

Freeze, excavate, and transport Lava as Cinder; ignite Cinder inside a Filter with a solid block below to create a contained burn surface.

  4. 04 · Feed the Press

Burnt Residue needs a 25-block drop into a Kinetic Press for one Gold and one Seed.

Official Flamethrower asset
Official Flamethrower asset. It is the early manual route to ignite Residue.

Questions answered

blockage.

Is there a Slag Burner building in Sandustry?

The official Slag Burner page currently contains no published mechanics. The verified system is a Residue ignition route, not a confirmed standalone building.

How do I automate burning Residue?

The official Wiki documents passing Residue over Lava trapped inside a Filter after Cinder is ignited over a solid block.

What comes after burning Residue?

Burnt Residue must drop at least 25 blocks into a Kinetic Press to produce one Gold and one Seed.

Official Wiki

  • The official Slag Burner page is empty and does not establish a dedicated machine or recipe.
  • Official Residue and Burnt Residue pages document Flamethrower, napalm, Pyro Dispenser, and Filter-contained Lava as ignition routes.
  • Only 25% of ignited Residue turns into Burnt Residue; the Kinetic Press converts each Burnt Residue into Gold and Seed.
