Scalable passive smelter

Completely passive gold (or copper) smelter, works only off residual lava heat, requiring no lava refills after the initial one.

Sourcing & Verification

Blueprint string reproduced byte-for-byte from community submission #221 on sandustryvault.com and published verbatim. We have not re-tested it in our own save. Footprint, power draw and throughput are not published by the source, so we do not state them.

Design Intent & Problem Solved

Completely passive gold (or copper) smelter, works only off residual lava heat, requiring no lava refills after the initial one. Can (and should) be scaled to arbitrary throughput, which is quadratic with height. Some gold will stick to slopes during operation - this is normal, it acts as coating. Also features a channel for easy initial filling, just copy-paste the funnel into the center, fill it with lava, remove when done.

Safe Placement & Cold-Start Checklist

  1. Place the module in open space with 2-block perimeter clearance before connecting production lines.
  2. Confirm research prerequisites, conveyor speed match, and liquid drop-pipe heights.
  3. Leave an inspection gap so any blocked Shaker or mineral slurry overflow can be drained safely.
  4. Verify power grid capacity satisfies the initial startup spike before feeding raw ore.
