Sandustry factory production scene

First shift

Build a loop before you build a factory.

The early game is not about a perfect factory. It is about making the first loop observable: wet sand in, Gold collected, slag routed away, and enough room to correct a blockage.

Working route

Use the constraint
as the design.

  1. 01 · Wet the sand

Water turns Sand into Wet Sand. Give the material a clear path to sink and leave the work area.

  2. 02 · Run the Shaker

Process Wet Sand to begin the Gold loop. Gold must reach a Collector to become usable research value.

  3. 03 · Separate the byproduct

Do not let Slag back up into the Shaker line. A Filter can keep a solid route focused on one material.

  4. 04 · Leave recovery space

Use the first factory as a test bench. Conveyors are horizontal; Launchers solve vertical or angled hand-offs.

Official Wiki

  • Conveyors place horizontally, while Launchers can make vertical and diagonal transfers.
  • Filters sort solids one resource at a time; Advanced Filters handle liquids and gases.
  • For fluids other than Lava, the documented route is Pump to Pipe to Liquid Vent.

Community-tested

  • A recorded beginner build recommends a temporary Slag store and a solid-only filter while the first production loop is still unstable.
  • The same walkthrough treats early layouts as working examples rather than a single optimal blueprint.

These are useful player examples, not official specifications.
