Sandustry water channels and terrain

Renewable supply · Water

Build a slow, renewable water source.

The Cryoblaster creates Snow indefinitely. The official Wiki documents the full renewable route: turn Snow into Steam, let the Steam reach the sky, then collect the rain in a prepared pool.

Working route

Use the constraint
as the design.

  1. 01 · Research the Cryoblaster

The Cryoblaster shoots Snow and the official Wiki says it can generate Snow indefinitely.

  2. 02 · Choose an open route

Build where produced Steam can rise to the sky. The renewable step only completes when the Steam reaches the open sky and returns as rain.

  3. 03 · Turn Snow into Steam

Burn Snow to make Steam. Keep the heat operation away from production material you do not want to ignite or disturb.

  4. 04 · Prepare a collection depression

Rain should fall into a walled, low collection pool. Water spreads until level and an unsettled droplet evaporates after 45 seconds.

  5. 05 · Seal diagonal leaks

Water can slip through unblocked corner-to-corner block joins. Add an extra block at every seam that leaks before calling the route sustainable.

Questions answered

Solve the next
blockage.

Can you make infinite Water in Sandustry?

Yes, slowly. The official Wiki documents Cryoblaster Snow converted to Steam, which rises to the sky and returns as rain for collection.

Why does my renewable Water disappear?

Water that does not settle into a depression within 45 seconds evaporates. Build a low, contained catch basin and check its corner seams for leaks.

Can a Filter hold Water?

No. The official Filter facts say it does not block liquids. Use walls, Conveyor Belts, Kinetic Presses, or other documented blockers for water containment.

Tested second.

Official Wiki

  • The Cryoblaster generates Snow indefinitely; its official entry calls it a slow but infinite Water supply because Snow can ultimately become Water.
  • The Water article names rain from Steam reaching the sky, using Cryoblaster Snow melted into Steam, as an infinite-water route.
  • Water pools to a flat surface; unsettled droplets evaporate after 45 seconds and corner joins can leak.

  • New Player SANDUSTRY Guide, 03:44: a beginner walkthrough demonstrates water turned to Steam and returned as rain before scaling the route.
